On Saturday August 5, 2023 Gary Guynn Cooper, loving husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord at the age of 77. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma on February 16, 1946 to Richard Guynn Cooper and Lois Sue Raper.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 12 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, burial will immediately follow at Robinson Cemetery. The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 11 at the funeral home.
Gary met the love of his life, Kathi, while in high school in Ada, Oklahoma. After high school, Gary served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era on the USS Lexington based out of Pensacola, Florida. After the military, he moved to Texas and managed a variety store. Following this he pursued his passion as a photographer at his own studio in Stephenville, Texas. He then worked at Olan Mills studio in Waco, Texas. He joined Pecan Grove Funeral Home as manager until he retired in 2013. In the past 10 years they have enjoyed vacations to Hawaii, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and many other places. In May, Gary and Kathi celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kathi Cooper of Robinson; sons, James Cooper and wife Treasure of College Station and Bryan Cooper of College Station; grandchildren, Tyler Simonek, Preston Cooper, Luke LaFollette, Hannah LaFollette, and Dawson Cooper.
Gary will be missed greatly by his family and friends until we meet again in Heaven.
