Garland was preceded in death by his father – Herbert Lessman, mother – Esther Grote Lessman, sister – Ellen Jo Lessman, and brother, Dwight Herbert Lessman.
He is survived by his nephew and spouse – Denny and Stacy Lessman, his brother and spouse – Dean and Sherri Lessman, and many other nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Over the past couple of years, Garland developed a closer relationship with his Lord, Jesus Christ, calling him a friend. He has encouraged others to create or renew their relationship with Jesus. He is now in heaven, where there is “no more death or sorrow or crying or pain…” Rev. 21:4.
