Freida Olga Kroll, 88, of Waco, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Peace Lutheran Church, 9301 Panther Way, Waco, with Rev. Stephen Rynearson officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Freida was born September 20, 1928, in Marlin, Texas, to Charlie and Olga Hegefeld. In 1947, she married Arnold Ruben Kroll. She was a homemaker and mother to their four children. Freida was an avid flower and vegetable gardener who loved to cook; her family was especially fond of her cinnamon rolls. Freida and her family were long time members of Peace Lutheran Church in Hewitt, where she and Arnold worked making and binding Braille Bibles. She enjoyed dancing, playing dominos, fishing, and camping with family and friends.
Freida was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Albert Hegefeld; and daughter-in-law, Joy Kroll.
Freida is survived by her husband of 69 years, Arnold Kroll; children, Doris Tucker and husband Bill; Jeanette Wollitz and husband Kenny; Gary Kroll and wife Sharon; and Randy Kroll and Fran Cantu; brother, Louis Hegefeld; sister, Ella Mae Burnett and husband Luther; sister-in-law, Ruth Hegefeld; grandchildren, Billy Tucker, Aaron Tucker, Melissa Goldberg, Michael Wollitz, Christina Eldredge, and Jeff Kroll; along with 15 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks for the compassionate care given by the caregivers of Wesley Woods and Providence Hospice.
