Frank W. Godsey III, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022, in Waco, Texas. A private burial will be held in the future.
Frank was born April 26, 1940 to Frank and Anita Godsey in North Adams, Massachusetts. He graduated in 1958 from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. Frank (Bud) spent much of his mischievous young life enjoying the waters of the Gulf. He met his first wife, Jane, while attending the University of Florida, where he earned BS and ME degrees. He was known as the “Fabulous Mr. Fix-it” for his ability and willingness to build or fix anything. Frank worked for several companies around the country as an engineer, settling in Waco, Texas in 1977. He retired from TSTC in Waco, Texas and Estes, McClure, and Associates in Tyler, Texas. His passions were spending time with his family, sailing, and visiting the beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Norma (Hueske) Godsey; parents, Frank and Anita Godsey; and sister, Sally Goshen.
Frank is survived by his three children, Bill Godsey (Rick), Diane Schmaus (Jim), and Michelle Myers (David); grandchildren, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Eric), Scott Bray (Julia), William Schmaus, and James Myers; step-children, Tracy Scott Burch-Thompson (Darrell) and Cary Scott; step-grandchildren, Colton Burch, Jordan Scott Patel, Perri Scott, and Braxton Burch; along with great-grandchildren, Gavin Rodriguez, Grayson Rodriguez, and Xavier "Rocky" Hernandez. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Stinnett, brother, Bill Godsey (Marsha); and numerous nieces and nephews.
