Frances Elaine Morgan Kurtz, born on May 29, 1945, in Marlin, TX, passed away on September 30, 2024, with her children by her side. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Frances is survived by her children, Dawn Laynette Flippin and Adolph “Buddy” Morgan Kurtz, along with her grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Benner (and her husband, Nathan Benner), Crystal Amber Johnson (and her husband, Larry Johnson), James Matthew Thomas Flippin, and Frances Mae Kurtz. Her great-grandchildren, George Konnor Neville, Caleb Alexander Neville, Alexis Nicole Herrera, and Larry James Johnson, also carry on her legacy. Frances is further survived by her siblings, Patsy Polk, Annette Nehring, and Ed Nehring, as well as her ex-husband, Adolph Kurtz.
Frances cherished her family, especially enjoying the time she spent rocking and singing to her children and grandchildren when they were small. She had a deep love for cooking, sewing, and gardening, and was especially known for her baking and her beautiful roses and irises. Her faith in the Lord was a guiding light throughout her life, often singing hymns while she cooked or at church. Frances passed on her faith, love, and many talents to her children and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of warmth, devotion, and cherished family traditions.
Visitation will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson, Texas, on Thursday, October 3, from 5 PM to 7 PM. A Christian graveside service will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Texas www.calvarycemeterymarlin.com on Friday, October 4 at 10 AM.
