Florentina Gaston

Florentina Gonzales Gaston, age 55, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 in the late afternoon. A celebration of her life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

Florentina, known as Tina by so many, was born April 2, 1968 to Ramiro and Guadalupe Gonzales. Tina’s compassion to help others lead her to be a supervisor at EOAC in Community Outreach Services. Tina enjoyed serving her community by helping low income families with bill payments as well as rent payments. She also helped during the West disaster.

Tina enjoyed spending time with her husband and grandchildren. She loved attending every game she could. In her last days, her time was spent with her brother, Edward and sister-in-law, Robin who took care of her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollie Gene Gaston in January of this year; her mother, Guadalupe Gonzales (2001); and brother, Arthur Gonzales Sr. (2012).

Tina is survived by her father, Ramiro Gonzales Sr.; brothers, Ramiro Gonzales Jr. and wife Kim, Edward Gonzales and wife Robin; sister, Regina Gonzales. She also leaves behind her three daughters, Jessica Hernandez and husband Daniel, Jennifer Galvan, and Tamika Coronado; seven grandchildren, Emmanuel Garcia Jr., Aliana Garcia, Adalena Pecina, Gabriel Garcia, Madison Pecina, Aeris Thomas, and Marianna Galvan; also many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own; along with her two dogs, DJ and Rosco.
