Florencio Monreal

Florencio (Felix) Monreal Sr. age 74, of Waco passed away Sunday December 3, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Victor and Alexandra Monreal on June 27,1949 in Waco, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Victor Monreal and is survived by his mother Alexandra, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, along with his siblings, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was a graduate of La Vega High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. in 1968 and was stationed and completed 3 tours in Vietnam. Sergeant Florencio Monreal served in the Marines in active duty and the Marine Reserves for a total of 16 years. He received many awards including the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Marine Presidential Unit Citation and Marine Combat Action Ribbon. He was also the recipient of two purple hearts. He also worked at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco Texas where he retired after 27 years.

Visitation will be Friday, December 15, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16,2023 at 10am at the Funeral Home. An inurnment with military honors will be held at a later time at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
