Florence Hiersig

Florence Hiersig, 79, of Hewitt, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday December 18, at Riesel Cemetery, Hwy 6 South, Riesel, TX, with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX.

Florence Martha (Raedeker) Hiersig was born May 9, 1940 to Gerhard and Hilda (Korger) Raedeker in Melrose Park, Illinois. She married Dieter Hiersig on February 23, 1957 in Riesel, Texas. Florence was a full time mother and homemaker while her children were young. In her later years, she worked at the sewing factory and then worked at Riesel ISD for several years before retiring. Florence loved trains, baking, and especially her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dieter E. Hiersig on November 28, 2005.

Florence is survived by her children, Michael Hiersig and wife Nancy, Cathy Henderson and husband Danny Joe, Karen Hall and husband Dean, Randy Hiersig and wife Mary; grandchildren, Becki Hogg and husband Keith, Jennifer Vera and husband Vivi, Ashley Jo Greany, John Yuhas Jr. and wife Jennifer, Michelle Wallace and husband Andrew, Regina McGuire, Richard Camp and wife Trisha, Ryan Camp; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Hogg, Jonathan, Zachary, and Morgan Vera, Clayton and Chandler Greany, Dietrich Yuhas, Logan Wallace, Isaac and Patrick McGuire, Benjamin and Theodore Maguire, Presley Camp; brother, Harold Raedeker and wife Joyce.
