Everett was born February 10, 1942 in Iredell, Texas to Floyd and Artie Lee (Honeycutt) Walker. He was one of 12 children. The Walker family were lifelong members at Shiloh Baptist Church.
For those of you that know Everett, you know that he was larger than life. He was a God-fearing man of integrity that loved his friends and family fiercely. Family was everything to Everett and because of that his children grew up in the most secure and loving home. Not only was he a wonderful father to his two children and grandfather to his five grandchildren he was also an amazing mentor and father figure to so many others. Everett was a coach for many youth teams throughout the years and created lifelong bonds and relationships. As those children grew they also had a coach for life. His love and loyalty to his friends and family was unmatched. Everyone knew they could count on him in a time of need.
He met the love of his life, Jeanne, at a pep rally at Midway High School when they were teenagers in September of 1959 and they were married on December 14, 1962. People knew how special their love was simply by seeing the way he looked at her. They shared close to 62 wonderful years together.
In 1991 after 20 years as the engineering supervisor Everett retired from Providence Hospital.
Everett was so full of life and people just loved to be around him. He was also mischievous and loved to make you belly laugh. He was a gentle giant but also very strict and demanded honesty and respect. You can see his strong character traits and watch his legacy live on through the lives of his beautiful grandchildren. There was nothing he enjoyed more than watching his children and grandchildren compete in sports and now he has the best seat in the house.
Everett had a dramatic impact on so many lives. He was loved and respected by all that knew him. He will be missed but his memory will live on and he will be welcomed in heaven by his loved ones that went before him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Walker Jr., Jack Walker, Nell Walker Holmes, Ted Walker, Ned Walker, Glenn Walker, Daphine Walker Potter, and Harvey Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Allen Walker, son Eric Walker and his wife Cherie Walker, daughter Tracey Walker Bergeson and her husband Paul Bergeson, grandchildren Matt Walker, Kennedy Miller, Jace Walker, Walker Bergeson, and Charlie Bergeson; brother James Arlen Walker, sisters Peggy Walker Liles, Shelia Walker Chollett.
Pallbearers will be Matt Walker, Jace Walker, Walker Bergeson, Charlie Bergeson, Jordan Rogers, Easton Slovacek, and Mason Brandenberger.
The Walker family would like to thank Tyler Johnson for his special care at Providence ER.
