Evelyn Albers Eddins passed into heaven on January 23, 2015 in Hewitt, Texas surrounded by her sons, their wives, and her sister, Lorine Petersen.
Evelyn was born to Charles and Emma Leiber on April 24, 1927 in Anderson, Texas and was baptized on May 22, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church. She grew up in Pt Arthur, Texas and was confirmed on April 6, 1941 at St Paul Lutheran Church. Evelyn graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Pt Arthur, Texas and subsequently graduated from Pt Arthur Business College in Pt Arthur, Texas. She married Carl F. Albers Jr. on June 7, 1947 and they had 4 sons – Alan, Randy, Terry, and David. Carl and Evelyn lived the majority of their married life in Orange, Texas where they were very active in the church being a charter member of Grace Lutheran which started in 1961. Carl passed away in 1966 and Evelyn later married Lee Eddins in Orange, Texas on April 13, 1974 where she lived until 2002 at which time she moved to Hewitt, Texas. Evelyn was again active in her church, St Paul Lutheran, Waco, volunteering in a variety of activities. Evelyn had a lifelong heart for and served the Lutheran Church’s Braille Service Mission volunteering in that mission project for approximately 50 years. Evelyn is survived by her sons Alan, her son Randy, wife Beverly, her son Terry, wife Sheryl, and her son David, wife Tammie, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lorine Petersen and her children, son Larry, wife Marilyn, and daughter Pamela.
The family would like to thank the staff of Senior Care of Hewitt and Bluebonnet Hospice (Waco) for their excellent, caring service.
Evelyn’s Celebration of Life will be on January 31, 2015 at 1:00pm at St Paul Lutheran Church at 1301 Hogan Lane, Waco, Texas 76705. After the service, the family would like to invite attendees to St Paul’s Fellowship Hall for refreshments and to share stories of Evelyn’s life. A brief grave-side service will be held in Pt Arthur, Texas at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, 3900 Twin City Hwy, Groves, TX on February 7, 2015 at 12:30pm.
