Evelyn Crane, 93 of Waco, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Lorena Cemetery with the Rev. Harley Gordon officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Mrs. Crane was born on Feb. 5, 1913 in Mesquite, TX and was a retired florist having owned her own shop in Mesquite for many years. Previously, she was a newspaper correspondent for a Dallas daily newspaper and the Mesquite Weekly Press.
She is survived by her son, Jack Crane and wife Catherine of Waco; sisters Hazel Cox of Mesquite and Fern Bechtol of Quinland; 7 grandchildren and step grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
