Eunice Anna Vasser, 89 of Waco, passed into the loving hands of the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2015, surrounded by her family thanks to Interim Hospice care. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, Texas. Services will be held at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1207 N. Old Robinson Rd, Robinson, Texas on Wednesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. Burial in Chilton Cemetery, Chilton, Texas.
Eunice was born September 30, 1925, in rural Hill County near Bynum, Texas to Gus and Lydia Schulze Busse. She graduated from Bynum High School and went to work in Waco, Texas, for AT&T Southwestern Bell as a long distance operator. When they went on strike, she met Hollis Vasser on the picket line. She was primarily a homemaker but in later years became a floral designer. She was active in her church teaching Sunday school and vacation bible school. She married Hollis Vasser on November 22, 1947 at Salem Lutheran Church near Malone, Texas. Together for 61 years, they had four daughters. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis; her daughter, Judy Stafford; her grand-daughter, Katherine Michelle Gant; her brother, Dick Busse.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Smith and husband Bill of Salado; Karey Patterson and husband Allen of Waco; Leisa Gant and husband Michael of West; her brothers, Ben Busse of Kerrville and John Busse of Goldthwaite; her sisters, Trudy Carter of Brownwood and Clara Hammond of Goldthwaite; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way.
