Ernest (Buddy) Roach Jr.

Ernest (Buddy) Neman Roach, Jr., 88, of Robinson, Texas, peacefully passed away and met with Jesus on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Waco Memorial Park. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 30 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

Buddy was born on December 17, 1934, in McGregor, Texas to Ernest Neman Roach, Sr. and Monnie Katherine Roach. He lived his childhood in the Lorena/McGregor area. He attended and graduated from Lorena High School in 1952. Ernest married Diane Salter in 1956 and they were married for 67 years. Ernest enlisted in the Navy in 1953, was called to active duty in 1957, and was honorably discharged in 1959. He also served as a reservist until 1961. Buddy then began his career working at William Cameron Company for 36 years and another 9 years in Talco, Texas.

During his younger years, Buddy was an avid Bass Fisherman, Hunter, and Softball coach. He coached both of his daughters, granddaughter, and niece and had started coaching his great-granddaughter how to hit the ball. After retirement, Buddy and Diane started a business called DR’s Rock Candles and traveled the State of Texas attending craft shows for 16 years selling river rock and calcite candles that they made by hand. They also took month-long trips traveling across the United States in the travel trailer exploring different mountain ranges, waterfalls, and exciting places that they wanted to see. Their favorite place to visit was Colorado.

Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest, Sr. and Monnie Roach, Brothers, Fillmore (Sonny) Roach (Margie), Jimmy Doyle Roach (Ruth), and Sister, Katherine Roach.

Ernest is survived by his Wife, Diane Roach, Daughters, Julia & Milton Farney, and Paula & Jimmy Lynch. Grandchildren: Kyla & Cory Swann, Chris Farney, Brad & Stacey Lynch, Shane & Tambra Lynch and Brittney & Keith White. Great-Grandchildren: Arrow & Sutton Swann, Skyler, Haven & Kenzie Farney, Madison & Trey Brown, Cade Lynch, Cali Jo Lynch, Tristan, Presley, Cash & Paislee Lynch, Ryan & Autumn White, Brooke, Kenidi, Journee & Jaxon White. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Otto Brown, Ripley Lynch, Asher & Titus White. Sisters-in-law: Gwen Tindell and Lois Salter. Nephews: Glenn & Jan Roach, Phil & Jennifer Roach, Russell & Teri Salter. Nieces: Sherry & Jim Gregston and Donna Salter, along with many great-nieces & nephews.
