Elsie E. Benson Cox 90, of Waco, passed away at a local hospital, Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Services will be 1 pm Monday, December 9, 2013 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. with Brother Carol Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors Sunday, from 3-5 pm at the funeral home.
Elsie was born August 13, 1923 in Fairfield TX, to Charley and Edith Speed. She touched the life of many people. She was kind and compassionate and knew what it meant to be a friend. Elsie had a fantastic relationship with her Lord and Savior. She was the strength and support for her friends and family. We may have lost a dear friend, but gained the angel she truly was.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lewis Benson and L.B. Cox; brothers, Edward, Alfred, Clyde, and Ray Speed.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Miles; grandchildren, Ben Williamson and wife Britney and Crystal Lyles; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Savanah, and Isack Williamson; sisters, Helen Nelms, Margie Carrigan, and Felicia Lemons; step-daughter, Paula Ballinger; son-in-law, Alvin R. Miles; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Ben Williamson, Rodger Ballinger, Russell Ballinger, Ritchie Ballinger, Charles E. Carrigan, and Ken Koenning.
