Elena Garibay

Elena (Helen) P. Garibay went Home to her Heavenly Father and to be rejoined with her husband Felix Garibay. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, at Templo La Hermosa, 1628 S. 26th St. with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.

Elena was born to Santos and Isabelle Mendoza Pena on May 11, 1932, in Marlin, TX. She married the love of her life, Felix Garibay, on March 25, 1953. She was a beautiful, loving, and wonderful mom who loved her children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed, but will live forever in our hearts.

Elena was preceded in death by husband Felix; parents; infant son; granddaughter; two sisters; and three brothers.

Elena is survived by daughters Mary Jane Resendez and husband Alex, and Teresa Blanton; sons Felix Garibay, Jr., and David Garibay; grandchildren Kevin Hicks, Lisa, Alex, and Adam Resendez, Brad and Michele Blanton, and Felix Garibay, III; her great-grandchildren D’Angelo, Alex III, Sierra, Adam, Jr., Jordyn, Vinny, Noelle, Gabby, Sierra N., Haley, Louis, Jakoby, and Matthew; sister Amelia Mohler and husband Gary; brother Santos Pena, Jr., along with several other brothers and sisters.
