Eldor J. Harmann, 80, of Woodway, passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 1 PM Fri. Mar. 24 at Peace Lutheran Church, 9301 Panther Way, Hewitt with Rev. Stephen Rynearson officiating. Graveside services will be 1pm Sat. Mar. 25 at William Penn Cemetery, 10202 FM 1935, 77833. The family will receive visitors 6-8 pm Thursday Mar. 23 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. Waco.
Eldor was born July 02, 1936 to Elmer R. and Dora W. Harmann. He married Mildred Gallmeier on April 25th, 1976 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Preston, Kansas. He was a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod pastor for 55 1/2 years and served at Concordia Lutheran Church, Kingsport, Tennessee; Christ Lutheran Church/Faith Lutheran Church, Elkhart/Hugoton, Kansas; St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preston, Kansas; Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Janesville, Wisconsin; Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mayville, Wisconsin and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, William Penn (Brenham), Texas. Eldor also filled in for many churches that did not have a pastor during his full-time ministry, and in retirement. His many hobbies included gardening and doing yard work, working on his model trains and traveling, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceeded in death by his parents; and son, Paul Harmann
Eldor is survived by his loving wife Mildred; children, Carla Strickland and husband Pat, Sarah Farrell, Craig Harmann and wife Heather; grandchildren, Tristen Strickland, Davin Farrell, Ella and Emily Harmann; sister, Judith Wiedenkeller and husband Hib, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
