Edward "Ed" Hale, 62, of Lorena, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Providence Hospital, with his family by his side. In accordance with Ed's wishes in lieu of a service, a celebration of his life will be 12, noon, Saturday, June 28, at his residence in Lorena, 301 S. Oak 76655.
Ed was born December 22, 1951 in Mansfield, Ohio to Howard Lon Hale Sr. and LaVerne Lundry Hale. When he was 17 he joined the United States Army against his mother's wishes and served two tours in Vietnam. He had a fierce love for his country and did his best to instill that into his daughters and grandchildren. If you ever had a chance to spend time with Ed you would have found him barbecuing and spending time with his family on the weekends.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Howard Lon Hale Sr. and LaVerene Lundry Hale; infant sister, Vicki; and brother, Howard Lon Hale Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Karen Hale; daughters, Wendy Drinkwater and husband, Kevin, of Orange Grove, Florida, Amanda Hartzell and husband, Brandon, of League City, Tiffany Carnes and husband, Tim, of Lorena, and Brittany Hale of Waco; grandchildren, Tommy Rulo, Karleigh Hale, Peyton Firth, Kamryn Hale, Kaleb Carnes, Joshua Flores, and Christopher Flores; grandpets, Honey, Boo Boo, and Loki Hartzell; sisters, Donna Ramzey and husband, Rick, of Denton, Fern Soukup and husband, Roy, of Cottonwood, and Sherrie Stanford of Waco; and a multitude of nieces and nephews across the country that he loved immensely.
