Edmund Venoy Thompson, 73, of San Diego, CA passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020, at home surrounded by his family in Hewitt, TX. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 29, at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 S 12th St, Waco, TX, with Pastor David Cozart officiating.
Edmund was born June 4, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to Robert A. and Annette E. (née Foulkes) Thompson. He worked as a machinist at Rockwell International and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed playing chess.
Edmund was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Antoinette Thompson.
He is survived by his children, Shontella Moore and husband Michael of Winterville, NC, and Charletia Pettis and husband Christopher of Hewitt, TX; brothers, George N. Thompson of Phoenix, AZ and Mario Gary Thompson of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Mario and wife Banika, and Nelisha, all of San Diego, CA, Anika of Winterville, NC, Chelsea of Huntsville, TX, Julia of Waco, TX, Aneisha of Lithonia, GA, and Christiana of Hewitt, TX.; eight great-grandchildren, Nigel, Mario, Jr., Kajuan, Kajahana, Ashaun, Aniyah, Jamir and Zane; one great-great-grandchild on the way; along with nephews, Gaylon V. Johnson and wife Cozzie, Herman Travis and wife Olga, and George N. Thompson, Jr.; nieces, Francine Weakley of Kissimmee, FL. and Shafi; along with a host of other friends and relatives.
