Edith Graf Wolf, 94, entered into rest November 5, 2018. A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, November 10th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson, Texas. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. On Friday, November 9th, the family will receive friends and family during visitation from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. at the funeral home.
Edith was born August 30, 1924, in Coupland, Texas to John Erwin and Louise Minna (Melcher) Graf. She graduated in 1942 from John H. Reagan High School in Houston. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended Northside Lutheran Church during her early years in Houston. She was employed as a secretary for T. J. Bettes Realty.
Edith married Joseph Truitt Wolf in Houston on January 26, 1962. About 1979, they moved to Mena, Arkansas, where they lived for several years before moving to the Waco area in 1996. Early in their marriage this Baptist and this Lutheran compromised and attended the Presbyterian denomination together where they both served as Elders of Youngblood Memorial Presbyterian Church in Robinson. Edith also volunteered with the Mended Hearts organization.
Edith enjoyed knitting, needlework, growing flowers, vacation travel, “42”, and spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved Daschunds.
At the age of five, Edith lost her mother and, later, was preceded in death by her father, her sister, Joyce Pochmann Little; her step-mother, Mathilde Foehr Graf, her foster brother, Jack Edward Bruce, and her nephew, Kevin Garner.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph T. Wolf; sister, Evelyn Garner; niece, Virginia York Gregory; great nieces, Courtney, and her husband, Randy Davis, and Kelly, and her husband, Greg Woody; great nephew Shawn York and his wife, Amy; great great nieces Ryan York and Avery Woody; great great nephews Jaxson York and Evan Davis; two sisters-in-law; Onie Johnson and Juanita Owens; and a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to thank both the assisted living staff and the nurses and aides of Unit 2 of Ridgecrest Retirement and Health Center, the staff of Interim Hospice Care and Sandra Scarborough for their care and support.
