Eddie Robertson, 75, of Hewitt, met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, under the care of Hospice at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waco, Texas, just one day short of his 76th birthday. Visitation will be Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson from 6-8 pm. Services will be Friday, November 22nd, 2024 at 10:00 am at First Woodway Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
Eddie was born on November 17th, 1948 in Narrows, Virginia to Charles and Ruth Robertson. The family moved to Texas when he was 3. He graduated from University High School in 1967 and attended East Texas State University in Commerce and then Texas State Technical School.
His lifetime passion involved working in commercial construction. His career included jobs at Jones & Williams, Bush Building, Mazanec, Pearson, Robison and Built-Wright construction companies. He established many lifelong friendships over his dedicated 40+ years of service.
His hobbies included singing, golf, tennis and working on his family tree. He served in various aspects of Midway Little League, including the construction of the concession stands and press boxes, coaching his boys, umpiring and the board of directors. His love of sports was passed on to his children and grandchildren and he loved watching them play. He was always proud of his kids and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
He was ordained as a deacon at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He served at numerous churches in the area as Minister of Music. He also enjoyed singing with his brothers and sons in the Robertson quartet and listening to Southern gospel quartets. He was presently a member of First Woodway Baptist Church.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Robertson; sister, Marijean Burden; niece, Melinda Burden and in-laws, Herbert and Edna Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay; two sons Jeffrey and wife, Heather and Jason and wife, Desiree; seven grandchildren Sara, Peyton, Caleb, Deyton, Kiele, Riley and Karleigh; brothers Danny and wife, Sherry, Bob and wife, Janett and brother-in-law Tommie Burden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
