Duward Crocker

June 24, 1940 — November 26, 2016

Duward “Doodle” Wayne Crocker, 76, of Waco, passed away on November 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 10am December 1st at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr, Waco with Dr. Elton McCann officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at St. Elmo Cemetery next to New Hope Baptist Church 581 Farm Road 416 Streetman, Tx 75859. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, November 30 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Duward was born June 24, 1940 in Waco to I.D. “Widder” Crocker and Janie Parker. He was married May 14, 1960 in Waco to Eva Mae Etheridge.

Duward served in the Navy from 1957 through 1962. He was employed by Owens Illinois Glass Plant for 35 years until 1994. Not ready to retire, he went to work for M&M Mars, drove The Waco Streak, and Wells Cargo Trailers until he fully retired. He joined the National Guard in 1979 and retired in 2000. Duward was honored in the Masonic Lodge as a 50-year member and a Golden Trowel recipient. He was Past Worthy Patron of Bellmead Eastern Star No. 980 and Lorena Eastern Star No. 1124. He was also Past Master of J.H. Gurley Lodge No. 337 and was currently serving as Tiler with Winkler Lodge No. 826. He was part of the Degree team for the Waco Scottish Rite as well as a member of Karem Shrine Motor Patrol where he was part of the National Champion Team in 1972. He enjoyed camping with the Kountry Kampers and loved playing dominoes, horseshoes, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother John Crocker.

Duward is survived by his wife, Eva; sons Darrell Crocker and wife Stacy, Dennis Crocker and wife Denise, and Danny Crocker and wife Christy; six grandchildren, Tyler Crocker, Curtis Crocker and wife Nicole, Meredith Crocker, Cody Crocker, Kendell Crocker, and Kourtney Crocker; 2 great-grandchildren Wyatt Crocker and Layla Crocker; brother, Rowdy Dandridge and wife Betty, sister-in-law Susan Crocker, step-sister Sue Hurst. He has numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and always enjoyed being with them.

We want to thank all his family and friends that have prayed for him through this past year. We know the power of prayer kept him strong until the very end. We also want to thank Thee Hospice. We especially want to say thank you to Terissa Westover, Miranda, Sheila, Gloria, Amanda, and Betty for taking such special care of him.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Gonzales, Marc Mills, Mike Penney, Scott Richter, Brian Shelburne, and Lyndon Witt.
