March 31, 1965 — January 1, 2025

Dowlen Adee, 59, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in Axtell, TX.

A memorial service will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson, TX on Saturday, January 18th at 10 AM.

A graveside service will be at Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico at a later date.

Dowlen was born on March 31st, 1965 in Amarillo, Texas to Bobby and Johnann Heimann Adee. He grew up on Rosebud Ranch in Harding County, New Mexico, and attended public school in Amistad and Clayton, graduating in 1983 from Clayton High School.

Dowlen was a trained EMT and paramedic. He was once active in the Rosebud, Amistad and Clayton Volunteer Fire Departments, and he was a member of the Clayton Chapter of Civil Air Patrol. For 15+ years he enjoyed being a truck driver where he was affectionately known as “Knight Rider”. For many years, he worked at CAT as a certified diesel mechanic. Most recently, he liked to say that he played with “life-sized Tonka Trucks” as he was a heavy equipment operator with Texas Materials.

Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, farming, ranching, cowboying, skiing, bowling, collecting/trading guns and tinkering on cars. Dowlen was passionate about music, loved to sing and karaoke and could always beat you in a game of pool. He was especially happy when he was spending time with family and friends. He was quick-witted and had his dry sense of humor. He had a kind heart and would help anyone if he could. Dowlen was a loyal and great friend to many that knew him.

Dowlen was preceded in death by his grandparents Fred and Floy Shields Heimann and Benson and Dorothy Maxine Allen Adee, his parents Bobby and Johnann Heimann Adee, and his infant sister, Sheryl Ann.

He is survived by his daughter Dana Adee Kirkland and husband Cody of Axtell, TX, grandson Cooper and granddaughter Bobbye; son Michael Adee and wife Whitney of Hallettsville, TX, grandsons Benson and Wyatt and granddaughter Evelyne; sister Sharon Adee Loden and husband Michael of Waco, TX, nieces Abby and Sheryl; Aunt Barbara Adee James; and numerous cousins.
