Dorris Roberts of Lorena, Texas passed away on June 15, 2023 at St. Catherine’s Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 22 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. Waco, Texas, 76706 with Pastor Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Rosemound Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at 10:00 a.m.
Dorris was born December 24, 1927 in Waco, Texas to Clarence and Dora (Smith) Mostyn. She graduated from Waco High School in 1945. She worked for Southwestern Bell and Baylor University as a Telephone Operator. Her passion for Baylor did not cease after retirement. She would always make a point to watch Baylor sporting events, especially Women’s basketball, with her family. She was a proud member of Primrose Drive Baptist Church and the Harrison Senior Center in Waco. She enjoyed volunteering there and communing with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hollie L. Roberts; daughter, Kay Hudson; and son, Jimmy Lee Roberts. Also preceded in death by her three brothers: C.R. Mostyn, Kenneth Mostyn, and Claude Mostyn.
Dorris is survived by her son, Johnny Russell Roberts of Lorena; as well as her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Roberts of Lorena. Grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Roberts Jr. and his wife Bailey of Lorena, Russell Hudson and Derek Hudson of Waco, Kelly Wolfe and her husband Max of Keller, and Lindsey Roberts; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Catherine’s Senior Living Center for years of compassion and great care. Also, Community Healthcare of Texas – Hospice for doing everything possible to make her last days comfortable and peaceful.
