Dorothy Tye

Dorothy Jean Tye, 78, of McGregor, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be Friday, August 1, from 6pm – 8pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 2 at 10am at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Castro officiating. Graveside services will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
Dorothy was born February 23, 1936, to JG and Mary Jane Anderson. She was a Sunday school teacher at Dutton Street Missions which she was very passionate about. She loved playing Bingo with her sister, Tena, whom she dearly loved. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, JG and her mother, Mary Jane; brother Francis; and sisters, Opal and Tena.
Dorothy is survived by her companion, Dean Tye; her children, Kenneth Tye, Darrel Tye, Kristi and husband Chris Pote, and Stacie Diaz; brothers Joe Anderson and Charles Anderson; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brian Diaz, Kevin Pote, Christopher Smithson, Dewayne Tye, Ronnie Tye, and Larry Tye.
