Dorothy Herrington

Dorothy Ruth Jaster Herrington, 81, of Cego went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, April 30, 2016, at a care center in Temple. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, May 5, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with Rev. Jim Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Cego Cemetery in Falls County. The family will receive visitors 6-8 pm, Wednesday, May 4, at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born February 18, 1935 in Durango, Texas to Albert and Hilda Kruger Jaster. She graduated from Troy High School. Dorothy married Thomas Lee Herrington on January 13, 1956. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Robinson, living in Cego for 50+ years. Dorothy spent her time as a homemaker, helping her husband on their farm until they retired. She loved spending time with her granddaughters. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, and aunt that will be greatly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, on November 25, 2011; her parents; and brother, Willie Jaster.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ruth Herrington of Waco; granddaughters, Kayla Pope of Huntsville, Shannon Pope of Waco; brother, Richard (Pat) Jaster of Temple; sisters, Selma Lawler and Helen Jaster of Temple, and Sindy (Wilma) Greenwood of Salado; great nephew, Clayton Herrington of Cego, along with many nephews and nieces.
