Doris Jeannette Hueske, 95, of Waco passed away January 11, 2024 in Wylie, Texas.
Jeannette was born July 25, 1928 in Palacios, Texas. She was born to O.L. and Mary Barber. When she was 3 years old she and her family moved to Waco, Texas. She had one sibling, Dwain Barber. They were very close until his passing in 2023.
She attended LaVega schools and graduated in 1946. She then attended 4-C Business College. She worked as a payroll clerk for Frank Smith Heart of Texas Fryers. Later in life, she worked for Word Incorporated in Waco.
She married Clayton Hueske on December 19, 1951. They made their home in Waco where they lived the entirety of their marriage. They were married almost 61 years before Clayton preceded her in death.
Jeannette loved working in her garden. She and Clayton traveled to many states with their involvement in the American Legion. Later in life, she enjoyed helping the Sewing group at her church, St. Paul Lutheran.
She is preceded in death by her parents O.L. and Mary Barber; her husband, Clayton Hueske; son, Billy Hueske Sr; daughter, Darla Ayers; and her brother, Dwain W. Barber.
She is survived by daughter, Lesa Gage and her husband Bob; daughter-in-law, Mary Hueske; grandchildren, Billy Hueske Jr. and wife Sherry; Christina Miller and husband, Mark; Michael Olson and wife, Jenna; Douglas Ayers and wife, Chelcie; Darla Michelle Ayers; and Spencer Gage. Great grandchildren Tyler Miller, Matthew Hueske, Morgan Hueske, Merritt Olson, Rhett Ayers and Evan Ayers; extended family member Steve Folkner, niece Terri Barber Kurz and nephew Stephen Barber.
Pallbearers will be her grandson’s Billy Hueske Jr., Michael Olson, Doug Ayers, and Spencer Gage.
Visitation is January 20, 2024 from 9:30- 10:30 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco. Graveside services will be held at McGregor Cemetery at 12:00.
In lieu of flowers make donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead, Texas.
