Diane Salter Roach, 88, of Robinson, Texas, peacefully passed away and met with Jesus on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Waco Memorial Park. There will be a visitation from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Diane was born November 25, 1936, in Waco, Texas to Isaac Lester Salter and Bessie Beatrice Salter. She attended and graduated from Lorena High School in 1954. Diane married Ernest Roach on May 12, 1956, and they were married for 67 years before he passed away on August 27, 2023. Diane graduated from 4C College and was the fastest typist and could take shorthand like no other! She worked for Jacobs Kathey, Miller Distribution, and Snelling Employment Service.
During her younger years, Diane taught Sunday school at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Girl Scouts, and helped coach both her daughters at Southern Little League. She took Girls Scouts to Big Ben National Park, Alpine and Camp Kachina. Diane taught her granddaughter Kyla how to sew and Kyla won many awards at the HOT Fair.
After retirement, Diane and Buddy started a business called DR’s Rock Candles and traveled the State of Texas attending craft shows for 16 years selling river rock and calcite candles that they made by hand. They would take month long trips traveling across the United States in their travel trailer exploring different mountain ranges, waterfalls, and exciting places that they wanted to see. Their favorite place to visit was Colorado.
Diane is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Roach, parents Lester Salter and Bessie Salter, brother and sister-in-law, Lester “Booger” and Lois Salter, Jr., brother-in-law Norman Tindell.
Diane is survived by daughters, Julia and Milton Farney, Paula and Jimmy Lynch; sister, Gwen Tindell; grandchildren, Kyla and Cory Swann, Chris Farney, Brad and Stacey Lynch, Shane and Tambra Lynch, Brittany and Keith White; great-grandchildren, Arrow and Sutton Swann, Skyler, Haven and Kenzie Farney, Madison and Trey Brown, Cade and Cali Jo Lynch, Tristan, Presley, Cash and Paislee Lynch, Ryan and Autumn White, Koy, Brooke, Kenidi, Journee, and Jaxon White; great-great grandchildren, Otto Brown, Ripley Lynch, Asher and Titus White; nephews, Glenn and Jan Roach, Phil and Jennifer Roach, Russell and Terri Salter; nieces, Sherry and Jim Gregston and Donna Salter along with many great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Nita Marek and Carrie Radcliffe for their special care of our mother. Their dedication, kindness and great care shown was so comforting to all of us.
