Dennis Nichols

Dennis Gene Nichols, 62, of Rosenthal, passed away at his home, Saturday, November 22, 2014. A memorial service will be held, 10 am, Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. The family will receive visitors, Tuesday, November 25, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Dennis was born, December 15, 1951, in Teague TX, to Charles Thomas Nichols and Betty Jean (Miles) Nichols. Dennis attended Robinson High School. He was drafted in the Armed Forces in 1971 and stationed at Fort Bliss Texas, as a rifle marksman and mechanic. Dennis worked at General Tire for 13 years and then went to Diesel Power to pursue his mechanical career. Dennis loved to hunt and fish, he loved the outdoors and was a tree activist. He loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, he will truly be missed and loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Nichols; mom, Betty Love and grandparents.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby Nichols and wife, Angela, and Brandon Nichols and wife, Kim; daughter, Leigh Ann Nichols and husband, Lamar; brother, Larry Nichols and wife, Bonnie; sister, Carol Wood and husband, Tony; grandkids, Brittany, Kyle, Jenesis, Noah, A’Leigha, and Ty’Shon; great-grandkids, Bently, and Laikleigh; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friend, Lester Whitley.
