Delores Jane Neumann Wells, 72, of Riesel, passed away Tuesday February 11, 2020. Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm Friday February 14th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel, with Rev. David Burge officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm Thursday February 13th, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. Waco.
Delores was born September 10, 1947 in Marlin, Texas to Adolf R. and Laura Niemeyer Neumann. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran in Otto, Texas on September 21, 1947 by the Rev. Martin Stockamp and confirmed April 10, 1960 at Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin by the Rev. M. Erick Knippa. Delores graduated from Marlin High School in 1966 and then worked several years as a lab technician for THS Hospital in Marlin and the South Waco Medical Clinic. She married Gayland Wells on April 13, 1968 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1978. Delores retired from the Texas First State Bank in Riesel after 23 years of service. She began playing the organ at the age of 14 and played for both Grace Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churches. Delores was an avid gardener and loved antiquing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fisher Gayland Wells; and parents, Adolf and Laura Neumann.
Delores is survived by her son Brad Wells and wife Brenda, of Burleson, Texas; grandson, Keynon Wells and wife Marina, of Moore, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Shelby Graf and husband Sam, of Burleson, Texas; great-grandsons, Samuel Graf and Casey Wells; great-granddaughter, Avery Wells; and sister, Nettie Ehlers and husband E.W.
