Della Smith

Della Alleen Smith, 84, of Waco, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor Wayne Blackshear officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, at the funeral home.
Alleen was born October 16, 1933, to Otto and Mary (Bessie) Recek Nehring, in Marlin, TX. She married Curtis Smith February 5, 1954. Alleen was a mortgage loan officer until her retirement. She loved to watch Ranger baseball. Alleen was a long-time member of Primrose Baptist Church where she was the church treasurer. She loved the Lord and loved attending services every Sunday. Alleen was a Christian who extended the character of Jesus to others with love and compassion.
Alleen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Curtis Smith.
Alleen is survived by her daughter Debbie Kreder and husband James of Waco; brother Johnie Nehring of Waco; sister Doris Nehring McCorkle of Waco; granddaughter Stefanie Ruble and husband Marty of Granger; great-granddaughter, Brady Jade Tower; great-grandson Samuel Curtis Ruble; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
