Dell Maxine Kaulfus

Dell Maxine (Spencer) Kaulfus was born on March 30, 1931 in Bangs, Texas to Robert Spencer and Mary Dell (Kennedy) Spencer. Dell grew up with two brothers, Richard Hayes (2 yrs older) and Billie Joe (1 yr younger). As a young girl, she lived in Wink, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Tulsa, OK; and Jewett, TX.

She graduated from Jewett High School in 1949. She received a Cosmetology Certificate from the Waco Beauty School in 1950 and began working at the Pearl Landrum Beauty Shop in downtown Waco. She married William Edward Kaulfus on September 21, 1957 at Sardis Community in Jewett, TX. When her children, Carol and David came along, she became a full time homemaker. In the 1980s, she worked in the Office of Academic Records at Baylor University.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers, and husband. She is survived by her children Carol (Kaulfus) Codrescu and David Kaulfus; four grandchildren Stefan Codrescu, Katherine Codrescu, Courtney (Kaulfus) Lunde, and Colbey Kaulfus; one great grandson; and 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, knitting, and crocheting; canning and preserving; growing flowers; trying new recipes; and short trips exploring Texas.
