Deborah S. Ayer was born November 22, 1971 in Philadelphia Pa. She died at home peacefully on December 2, 2018.
Deborah, the daughter of Thomas W Gilliard and Audrey C. Thompson Gilliard lived Philadelphia for most of her childhood. She attended Holy Angels Elementary then went on to graduate from Cardinal Dougherty High School.
Following her schooling Deborah enlisted in the U.S. Army. She served in Korea as a radio teletype operator. Returning to the states following her service she settled initially in the Killeen area where she met her husband David Ayer. She was employed as an EMT/Fire Fighter for the Temple Fire department.
Later she worked as a secretary for the Nolanville Fire Department where she was also a firefighter/lieutenant. She left that position to be a stay at home mom to raise her children Audrey and Steven.
Deborah was a prolific reader, enjoyed science fiction, political science and was a contributor for the online blog “THE DAILY CALLER” as well as “POLITICHICKS”. She found enjoyment in the domestic arts such as canning, raising chickens, cooking, and sewing. She made Halloween costumes for her children, dresses for her daughter that were unique and creative.
She was a woman of strong religious and political conviction who lived life to the fullest. She will be missed by her friends, both online and off who were touched by her generosity and kindness.
