Debra (Debbie) Kay Atkins-McFarland, age 62, of Whitney, TX, passed away at her home surrounded by family on 13 January 2014. The Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. 17 January 2014 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 5643 FM 933, Whitney, TX 76692. Debbie was born in Dallas, TX on 8 January 1952. She attended school in Kopperl,TX. Debbie married Mike Greger of Kopperl after high school and had Michelle and Marty Greger. She later married Larry McFarland of Waco, TX on 27 May 1978 and had Kevin McFarland. They were married for 35 years. Debbie, most notably, worked at Ralston Purina in Merdian, Walls sewing factory in Clifton and as a business owner with her husband Larry. Together they owned two successful companies, Texas Trash Haulers and Texas Waste Haulers, for a combined total of 17 years. At a young age, she enjoyed playing volleyball, water skiing, go-kart racing, and horseback riding, but as time went on she found fulfillment in her children, grand children, crocheting and embroidering. Debbie is survived by husband Larry McFarland of Whitney, TX; daughter Michelle Fletcher and husband Kenneth of Whitney, TX; sons Marty Greger and wife Dawn of Moyers, OK and Kevin McFarland and wife Lori of Corsicana, TX, Grandchildren Kolten and Kendle Fletcher of Whintey, TX; Justice and Emily Greger of Moyers, OK; Madisyn Arnett, Dakota, Colby and Chesney McFarland of Corsicana, TX; mother Alma Atkins of Cleburne, TX; brothers Randy Atkins and wife Sally of Midlothian, TX and Steve Atkins and wife Amy of Mansfield, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Debbie is preceded in death by her father Windle Atkins, and grandson Kory Fletcher.
