David L. "Don" Duyck 93, of Waco, passed away at a local hospital Monday, March 11, 2013. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. with Pastor David Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Don was born Feb. 20, 1920 in Madison County, N.C. to James and Sarah Duyck. He attended Marrs Hill College receiving an associates degree. At the age of 18 he moved to Washington D.C., working at several different jobs. During the 50's he managed Electrolux Vacuums, later he sold cars for VW for 10 years. After car sales, he opened his own restaurant, Duyck's BBQ Carryout. He worked and retired with Wal-Mart after 25 years of service.
He enjoyed golfing, yard work, and tending his garden. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and telling his famous stories. He was a member of Lakeshore United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, David L. Duyck Jr. and Richard Adcox; and three sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Euna Mae Duyck; daughters, Donna Muhlman and husband, Michael, Carolyn Baccus and husband, Quenton, and Deanna Henry and husband, Dave; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daren Baccus, J.R. Baccus, Quenton Baccus, Michael Muhlman, Don Cannon, Dave Henry, and Kenneth Cannon.
