David Dale Bolton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Waco, Texas. He was born October 6, 1943 to Otis F. and Gracie (Mummey) Bolton. He was the 13th child of his parents. His siblings knew him as “Baby Brother” and his 35 nieces and nephews knew him as “Uncle David.” He loved family more than anything.
“Papa” is survived by his loving wife of 40 years and 9 months, Mary Bolton; son, David Pledger (Angie); daughter, Melissa Carter (Randy); along with three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
David served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and worked hard to support his family. His greatest recreation was bowling in Waco, Temple and throughout the USA in tournaments.
“Papa” as everyone knew him was the most loving and caring person who never met a stranger. People knew if they needed anything or help in any way, he was there. His heart was as big as he was.
He and his wife Mary took in rescue kitties, and he leaves behind his precious girl, Sadie Mae of 14 years. He always told people, if you don’t like cats, don’t come to my house. However, everyone who came were welcomed by him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the Veteran’s organizations.
David’s memorial service and inurnment will be held, Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas with military honors.
Blessed are those who walk in the light of your presence. Psalm 89:15
