Curtis Fitzpatrick

Curtis Fitzpatrick, 84, longtime resident of Riesel, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. There will be a private family service at a later date.
Curtis was born July 26, 1930, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, the 9th of 10 children born to Robert and Virginia Fitzpatrick. He enlisted in the Army and proudly served during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. During his time in the military, Curtis met the love of his life, Christine Ann Picha, and they were married on April 15, 1953. Following his retirement from General Tire & Rubber Co. in Waco, he and Christine founded and operated Fitzpatrick & Sons Meat Market in Robinson, Texas, until 1990. Curtis and Christine are longtime members of First Baptist Church of Riesel, where he served many years as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by a son, David Fitzpatrick, in 1960; his brothers, Joe, Ed, Robert, Carl, Jack, and sisters, Gladys, Christine, and Hattie Mae.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Fitzpatrick, sons Roger Fitzpatrick and wife, Jeanie, of Riesel; Dennis Fitzpatrick of Clinton, Ohio; and Dean Fitzpatrick and wife, Judy, of Riesel, and a sister, Anne Marie Slone, of Claypool, Indiana. Curt was adored by his grandchildren, Lindsey Rodgers and husband, Brian, and great-granddaughter, Ella, of Riesel; Andrea Praesel and husband, Justin, and great-granddaughters, Kelley and Kinley, of Denton, Texas; David Fitzpatrick and wife, Susan, and great-granddaughters Eve and Annabelle of Sanger, Texas; Daniel Fitzpatrick of San Antonio, Texas; and Krista Fitzpatrick and great-granddaughter, Alayna, of San Antonio.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Fitzpatrick, Mike Freeman, Justin Shaw, Brad Carruth, David Fitzpatrick and Brian Rodgers.
