Curtis Earl Busby

September 3, 1966 — October 6, 2024

Hallsburg

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Curtis Busby, a beloved member of our community, on the 6th day of October, 2024. Curtis dedicated 22 years of service to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, Jack Harwell Division, where he was known for his dedication, loyalty, and steadfast commitment to protecting the community.

Outside of his career, Curtis cherished life’s simple pleasures. He found peace and joy in fishing, camping, and spending quality time with his friends and family. His love for the outdoors reflected his calm and patient nature, while his family and friends were always the center of his world.

Curtis leaves behind his loving wife, Pam Busby, with whom he shared 34 wonderful years. He is survived by his children, Robert and Angie Colburn, Felicia and Miranda Hollingsworth, Derrick Jorgenson, Rojo and Christen Leal, Austin and Holley, Elizabeth, Kallee, and Rhyder Jorgenson, as well as his adored grandchildren: Rachelle, Robert, Callie, Payton, and Chloe; and Cory and Billy. Additionally, he is lovingly remembered by his 17 great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his presence.

Born to Herman and Rosa Busby, Curtis grew up with strong values of kindness, generosity, and integrity. These values shaped his life and his relationships with everyone he encountered. He was a man who brought light and laughter to those around him, always ready with a kind word or helping hand. His sense of duty was matched only by his love for his family and friends, who were at the heart of everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Busby, and will be remembered as a man who lived with kindness and strength, always putting others first.

His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched. Curtis will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of Curtis's life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 15 at New Hope Baptist Church, 5783 W. Lake Creek Road, Riesel, where friends and family are invited to gather in honor of a man who gave so much of himself to others. May he rest in peace.
