Connie Janelle (Gibson) Robins, 72, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 am Fri. Dec 23, 2016 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr, Waco, Tx., with burial to follow at Bruceville Moore Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6-8 pm Thurs. Dec 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
Connie was born June 28, 1944 to Raymond and Opal (Nobles) Gibson. She grew up in Bruceville-Eddy and graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School and Durhams Business School. Connie married Mervin E. Robins on May 11, 1964 and they enjoyed 41 years together. She worked at American Amicable Life Insurance Co. and later at the Bruceville and Eddy Post Offices where she retired as a rural carrier after 31 years. Connie then worked part-time at Mervyns Dept. Store until going on dialysis in 2004. She received a kidney transplant in 2006 and encouraged everyone to become an organ donor.
Connie was a member of Bruceville Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending all activities of her children and later grandchildren, going on trips with her best friends; John and Betty Trent, as well as doing crosswords and Soduku puzzles daily.
She is preceded in death by her daddy and mother; husband, Mervin; father-in-law; mother-in-law; niece, Kellie Gibson; brother, Jerry Gibson; and grandson, Dalton Robins.
She is survived by daughter, Rhonda Kohutek of Eddy; sons, Raymond “Marty” Robins of Eddy, Jason Robins and wife Karyn of Eddy, Ritchie Robins and wife Sheryl of Lorena; three grandchildren, Bailey Robins of Eddy, Sydney Robins of Lorena, and Tadd Robins of Eddy; great-grandsons, Levi and Cooper Robins; Brother-in-law, Mike Robins and wife Judy of Hewitt; nephew, Jeff Robins of Arlington; Nieces, Mandy Laxson and husband Charles of Belton, Buffy Gibson of Temple; four great-nephews, Hobey and Cole Laxson, Charles Gibson, Eric Day; two great nieces, Laresa Gibson and Aerial Day; step-daughter, Lisa Dragoo and husband Mike of Robinson; step-grandchildren, Eric, Kyle and Reis Griffin; and step-great-grandson, Hayden Griffin.
Special Thanks to Dr. Allan Nickel and staff of Scott and White Dialysis Center ,Dr. G. Jeffers, and Dr. M. Narayanan and staff of Scott and White Transplant Dept. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bruceville- Eddy Emergency Services, 143 Wilcox Dr., Eddy, Tx.
