Clyde Black

Clyde Willis Black, 81, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017. Funeral services will be 10 AM Thursday June 1 at Greater Waco Baptist Church, 912 Loop 340, Waco, with Pastor Gerald McKelroy officiating with burial to follow at Riesel Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Wed. May 31 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.

Clyde Willis Black was born in Littlefield, Texas on May 30, 1935 to parents, Dolphus Manard Black and Louise Augusta Lueck Black. He served in the National Guard. He married the love of his life, Colleen, June 17, 1955 in McLennan County, Texas. Clyde worked at his contract farming operation until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Greater Waco Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Doyle Alan, and sister, Helen Josephine Howell

Clyde is survived by his wife, Edna Colleen Puryear Black of Axtell, sister, Joyce Marie Black Watson of Morgan, many nieces and nephews, several cousins, two sisters-in law, and two brothers-in- law.
