Cynthia (Cindy) DeLynn Shehorn Norcross, 33, of Round Rock passed away Thursday November 9, 2017 with family by her side at Seton Hospital Round Rock. A graveside service will be held at 10 am Saturday November 18 at Robinson Cemetery, 620 E. Stegall Dr., Robinson, TX. Molly Simpson (Assistant Pastor of 1st United Methodist Church) and Richard Roland (Minister of Lakewood Christian Church) will be officiating. Family, friends, and others, whose lives Cindy touched are invited to visitation 6-8 pm on Friday November 17 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and, of course, just chat.
Cindy was born June 11, 1984 in Bakersfield, CA, where she was a 2002 graduate of Highland High School. Cindy attended classes at Bakersfield College. Cindy had beautiful blue eyes, an infectious smile and many friends. Cindy was involved in a variety of activities. She played piano, then cornet and tuba in marching band. She played soccer for 5 years and was very proud when her Fireballs team won the regional championship. She was on community swim teams. Cindy was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was also active in her youth group at First Presbyterian Church.
Cindy worked at Pizza Hut in Oildale, CA, where she was promoted to manager. She met and cherished many of her best, life-long friends from her years working at Pizza Hut.
In 2005, Cindy moved to Central Texas. She worked as Case Manager for EMSI first in Waco, and then remotely after moving to Round Rock. In 2011, Cindy met the love of her life Nick Norcross. In 2014, they exchanged wedding vows. Cindy and Nick enjoyed music, movies, gaming, dancing, and swimming at their pool, football (Dallas Cowboys), friends, family, and fun. During their 6 years together, Cindy and Nick were inseparable.
Cindy was a very talented person. She artistically decorated every greeting card, even the envelopes. She carved pumpkins like a professional. She loved to be creative, even in cooking. She loved to decorate. Her hobbies included stamping, embossing, drawing, coloring, painting, and crafting. Cindy was an animal lover. Her personal favorites included giraffes and hippos. She and Nick shared a dog, a cat, and several fish tanks.
Cindy was very close to her younger sister, Emily Shehorn, of Waco. Emily says in Cindy she lost her best friend.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norma and James Thomason of Waco, TX, and grandfather, Lloyd W. Shehorn of Waco, TX.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Nick Norcross; father, Steve Shehorn and wife Yolly; mother DeLynn Hall and husband Gene, brother, Andy Shehorn of Bakersfield, CA and wife Joy; sister Emily Shehorn and boyfriend Thomas; father- and mother-in-law, Roy and Sandy Norcross; sister-in-law, Katy and husband Phillip Banks; and grandmother, Dores “MeeMee” Shehorn. Cindy was a proud Aunt to Daisha Norcross and her daughter Iynzaya Gainer, and Philomena and Phoenix Banks. Cindy is survived by her beloved dog of 10 years, Bailey, and their cat Vinny.
