Christie Dawn Watson, 31, of Waco, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 26, 2010, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas after a short, but valiant fight with breast cancer. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at First Baptist Church of Woodway with Jimmie King, a special friend of the family, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. After the ceremony, the family invites friends and loved ones to join them at George's Too, 925 Speight Ave., in Waco. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
Christie was born in Waco July 23, 1978. She graduated from Bruceville Eddy High School where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. After high school, Christie attended TSTC where she obtained a Dental Assistant certificate and worked as a dental assistant in Waco. Her greatest love was P.J. and their kids and she was happiest watching them play baseball and other activities. Christie's loss will be felt for years.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Juanita Lambert of Waco; and her niece, Kynnady Butzke ofPlano, Texas.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart, Phillip "P.J." Watson, whom she married June 27, 1998; her sons, Braydon, age 12, and Hunter, age 8; and her daughter, Landree Watson, age 4, all of Waco. Christie also leaves her mother and step-father, Denise and Tommy Cox of Waco; her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Misty and Cody Butzke of Plano, Texas; her step-sister, Angie Cox of Waco; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends who will miss her dearly.
