Charlynn was born in Kaufman County, Texas to Charley & Lizzie (Gregory) Easterly on July 25, 1931. She married Wayne Rogers on December 23,1948 in Winters, Texas. They lived in Bronte and then Winters before moving to Waco in 1953, where she continued to work as homemaker, housewife, and mother. Her love for cooking and serving others was shown throughout her life, always eager to invite friends, old or new, to stop by for meals, snacks, and heartfelt visits. She loved to include favorite dishes of as many guests as she could, whether family members or brand new acquaintances. Wanting to entertain in even more ways, she began baking and decorating cakes for weddings, birthdays, and special occasions in 1970. She provided cakes for the weddings of all three of her children. Later, she expanded her business to include catering meals for rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, and parties. She was very involved in church activities and loved organizing activities for the young people. Over the years, she and Wayne were members of South Waco Church of Christ, Elm Mott Church of Christ and Lakeshore Drive Church of Christ in Waco and Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene. Charlynn was a charter member of the Chalk Bluff Volunteer Fire Department, where she served as a firefighter, fundraiser, cook, and sometimes, entertainer. Those were the kinds of roles she loved to play. Wayne, who calls her "my Sweetheart", said "You know, she took care of me for 68 years!"
Charlynn was the last living child of her parents, and was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters, and son-in-law Danny Duggan.
