Charlie Lloyd Sullivan, 93, of Waco Texas, shed his earthly bonds and went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. A memorial service will be held, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Parkview Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Charlie was born in Sparenberg, TX on December 2, 1928, although his family home was in Coahoma, TX at the time. He spent almost his entire life either driving trucks, working on trucks or hauling them with his big wreckers. In order to help support himself and his mother Charlie quit school after the 7th grade, and got his first job as a truck driver. He put his age as 16 on the application even though he was only 14. After working for other people most of his life he started Fleet Truck Service in 1969, and later added Jennivan wrecker service. At the height of his career and business he simultaneously had a successful wrecker service and truck repair shop in Waco, another truck repair shop in Elm Mott, and a truck body shop, in Ross, TX. It was evident to all that Charlie lived for Jesus, loved his family and treated his employees like they were his family.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ophelia Sullivan; his wife of 71 years, Pauline Sullivan; sisters, Texas Pyle, LaHoma Ray, Tiny Daniels, Kathleen Little, and his brother, T.W. Sullivan.
Charlie is survived by his children, Vickie Schulz and husband, Bill; Ken Sullivan and wife, Heather; his grandchildren, Vanessa Dunnam-Evans, Jennifer Dunnam-Capelo and husband Luis, Stephanie Dunnam-Mabry and husband John, Caden Sullivan, and Lane Sullivan; and 5 great grandchildren.
