Brenda Joyce Nering Ybarra, age 77, of Temple peacefully passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with Reverend Brandon Frenzel officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Chilton Cemetery. There will be a visitation 30 minutes prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Brenda was born July 25, 1946 to Herbert and Alma (Lowrance) Nering in Marlin, Texas. She graduated from Lott High School and worked at Grandma Cookie Factory in Waco. Brenda married Ray Shilling in 1969. They were married for eleven years when he passed away in 1980. She was married twice after that. In her later years, Brenda loved to go shopping at Goodwill to collect trinkets and stuffed animals. She enjoyed spending time doing crafts, such as painting birdhouses and model cars.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Shillng; husband, W.C. Williams; two brothers, James and Larry Nering; and sister, Barbara Hamilton.
Brenda is survived by her son, Randy Williams of Riesel; sister, Lana Zimmermann and husband Richard of Rosenthal; brother, Pete Nering and wife Mary of Chilton; brother-in-law, Horace Hamilton; and sister-in-law, Sherilyn Nering both of Waco. She is also survived by nephews, Matthew Nering and wife Anne of Fort Worth, Cris Hamilton and wife Paula of Austin, Jason W Nering and wife Crystal of Gholson, John Nering and wife Dawn of Waco, Jason R. Nering and wife Julie of China Spring; eleven great-nephews and one step great-niece; plus a very special home care friend, Abilgail.
