Bonnie Campbell

June 25, 1938 — November 20, 2023

Bonnie Campbell, 85 of Waco, TX died Tuesday, November 20, 2023. She was born to the late Tommy and Bonnie Parker in June 1938. She enjoyed the love of her bonus father, Walton Williams, for most of her life.

Bonnie graduated from Waco High School and married her high school sweetheart, James Campbell, in September 1955. She continued her education through MCC, TSTC and educational opportunities afforded to her through Waco ISD. Bonnie worked as a Librarian and an Assistant Teacher in Waco ISD until her eventual retirement. That love of education and children drove her passion for volunteerism. She volunteered as a Zoo Docent for the Cameron Park Zoo. She also found joy reading to young children at the Waco Public Library. And the passion for her daughters drove her to become a Brownies and Girl Scout Troop Leader.

She and James made a wonderful life for their growing family in Waco, Texas all while establishing an amazing bonus life in Riesel. They built a beautiful ranch complete with a cabin and lake for boating and fishing with the family. She also made sure they had an island to view her sunsets.

Bonnie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. So, whether at the ranch or in the RV, she loved cooking the family a lavish Sunday Morning Breakfast including her famous hash, homemade gravy and pancakes! She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James Campbell.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Tarvah and Paul Wernette of China Spring, Raelene and Steven Ott of Abbott; grandchildren; Justin and Ashlee Campbell, Waylon Wernette, Tania and Joshua Crow, Joshua Ott and fiancée Sydney Janek and Jacob Ott; great-grandchildren, Akadian, Harlee, Ava, Everly, Adeline, Evelyn, Colyer, Marshall and Strider.

Bonnie received abundant love and care during her years in West Rest Haven Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to West Rest Haven Memory Care, 503 Meadow Dr, West, TX 76691.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park.
