Bonita Dene Melton, 81, of Eddy, TX, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, at Waco Memorial Park, with Pastor David Cozart officiating.
Bonita was born February 10, 1936, in Salmon, TX, to Chester and Mary Bruton Oliver. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed going to listen to blue grass music. Bonita was an excellent cook and loved to garden. She received several awards serving as president of the Bells Hill Elementary School PTA.
Bonita was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Johnson; her parents; and one sister.
Bonita is survived by her husband William “Bill” Melton; son, Curtis Melton; sister, Doris Windell; brother, Eugene Oliver; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
