Bobby Jane Gideon

Bobby Jane Gideon, passed away on March 29, 2025 in her home, surrounded by her loved ones. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 am at New Day Family Fellowship in McGregor, TX.

Bobby was born on January 6, 1961, in Denton, Texas to Billy Ed and Jane Nance. She graduated from Round Rock High School in 1979 and Baylor University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.

Bobby began her teaching career that same year, working at Marlin High School and later Rosebud Lott High School serving students in Special Education. During her career, Bobby also found great joy in coaching her students in Special Olympics.

Teaching was one of her great talents as she also taught many children in Sunday School throughout the years. She was a member of New Day Family Fellowship in McGregor.

Bobby loved attending her grandchildren’s events, as well as reading, shopping, history, and most of all being at the Nance Farm with her family. She was a great listener and loved having deep conversations for hours. She will be greatly missed!

Bobby is preceded in death by her parents, Billy Ed and Jane Nance and her grandparents, Ed and Ethel Nance & Ernest and Lillian Crider.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Thomas and husband Willie. Her son, Greg Gideon and wife Meghan. Grandchildren: Mya, Callie, Matthew, Wade, Charlotte, & Larkin. Her sister, Tracy Palombi and husband Vince. Her niece and nephew Faith and Vince, and her best friend of many years Kathy Gideon.

The family would like to thank Kristy and Marilyn Neal as well as extended friends and family for the love and care that you showed us during this time.
