Billy Pigg

Billy Smith Pigg, 93, of Lorena, TX, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, at Lorena Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Billy was born March 15, 1930, to William and Nora (Fitzpatrick) Pigg, in Shelbyville, TX. He served in the US Army. Billy married Margie Dell Stephenson in 1953. He worked as the Fire Chief at TSTC for 12 years and owned his own mechanic shop in Lorena. He was a member of the M. Denton Standford Lodge #594 and was a longtime member of Lorena United Methodist Church.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Margie Dell Pigg; daughter, Marsha Pennington; sisters, Raye Morris, Juanita Permenter, Mary Adams, Lee Vincent, Hazel Rose, and Jane Rose; brother, Tim Pigg; and daughter-in-law, Kay Pigg.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Pigg; and Gary Pigg and wife Lisa; grandson, Buddy Pennington and wife Ginger; granddaughter, Brooke Jennings and husband Jarrod; son-in-law, Lee Pennington; and great-grandsons, Collin Pennington, Elliot Pennington, Jace Jennings and Jett Jennings.
