Billy Ray Kilgore, 75, of Bruceville, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016. Graveside services will be 1 pm, Thurs, Feb. 11, at Cottonwood Cemetery in Falls County. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 pm Wed, Feb 10, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Billy Ray was born May 31, 1940 to Robert and Leona Kilgore in Rosebud, Texas. He married Maxine Shelley on January 10, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa. Billy Ray loved spending time working in his garden, flower beds, yard, and with his fruit trees. He also enjoyed listening to old time country music, as well as playing his guitar and teaching others to play. Billy Ray always took the opportunity to travel when he could and he loved going fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronnie.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Maxine; children, Terri Ann Lowrey, Eugene Kilgore and wife, Lorena, Sandra Richardson and husband, Darrell; grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather, Ryan, Austin, Justin; great-grandson, Nicholas; sisters, Hazel Johnson, Wanda Parker, Bobbie Herrington, Barbara Craig; brother, Robert Kilgore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
