Billy Ray Biddle of Whitehouse, TX, formerly of Waco, TX, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 of kidney failure. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 4, at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 I-35, Waco, TX.
Billy was born to Joe and Elizabeth Biddle on September 29, 1928 in Waco, TX. He attended schools in Waco and attended church at Edgefield Baptist. At the age of 14 he gave his heart to Jesus and was baptized by Rev. J.A. Haley. Billy’s passions as he grew older was softball. He played on a team with some great ballplayers. They travelled to many towns to play their games. Billy met a married the love of his life, Bonnie Nell Reinert on September 20, 1952 in Waco, TX. They both worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant. After four years of working, Bonnie quit her job to begin their family. She became a stay-at-home mom for Brian Ray in 1957 and Barry Jay in 1959. Billy was a wonderful provider for his sweet family. As their boys grew older, Billy became a little league manager for six years, seeing Barry hit 21 home runs. His oldest son, Brian was deeply involved in Scouts and received his Eagle Scout badge.
Billy took his sons many times to the Owens-Illinois clubhouse and fishing area where he fished and the boys rode their bikes and shot BB guns and they had picnics. He retired at the age of 59 after 35 years of services at Owens-Illinois, which he thought was a great place to work. One of the highlights in his life was when Barry married Paula and two years later presented him with a grandson, Chad and four years later with a granddaughter, Leanna. They all moved to Whitehouse, TX where Billy and Bonnie were active in their grandchildren’s activities. They all attended Friendly Baptist Church in Tyler.
Billy was a great husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law and always welcomed friends in their home. As he grew older, he dealt with diabetes. He was a stamp collector since 1947 and was a Mason.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce; brother, Bobby; mother-in-law, Ada Reinert, and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie; sons, Brian, and Barry and his wife, Paula; and grandson, Chad, all of Whitehouse, TX; and granddaughter, Leanna, of Katy, TX; Sister in laws Elsie Vergauwen, of Wichita Falls, TX and Daisy Reinert, of Temple, TX.
